SIGN0030 — Agenticality Signals

The most expensive three words in business right now: "AI can't do that."

Not because they're always wrong today — because of what they cost when they quietly go stale. Say them in January, skip the cheap test, and by June a competitor has done the thing you were certain couldn't be done.

Certainty feels like safety. In a fast market it's a position — and positions can be lost.

We run Agenticality on the opposite posture. Every belief about what our systems can't do carries an expiry date and a ten-dollar experiment. Most experiments fail. That's fine. The goal isn't to be right more often; it's to never be confidently, expensively wrong for six months straight.

The captain most certain the ship can't sink is the one who skimped on lifeboats. The freight operator who knew no machine could renegotiate a routing overnight is competing with one that just did — because her rival ran the ten-dollar test in March.

One foundation, many live products: that's this posture built into a company. A portfolio of running experiments instead of one large certainty.

Today's Sunday essay follows certainty to where it dies hardest — the global supply chain — and why the next trade advantage is measured in reflexes. Live on the site now, with audio.
